director bio

Randall Okita was born in Calgary, Alberta and is now based in Vancouver, British Columbia, where his experience includes working as an intern for Anagram Pictures (Fido, The Delicate Art of Parking, Mile Zero) and as a line producer on Ann Marie Fleming's feature film The French Guy (TIFF '05). Randall's 2008 short film Machine with Wishbone, has screened at festivals worldwide, winning awards in Brooklyn, Toronto, Winnipeg and Yorkton. Machine with Wishbone is being broadcast on Bravo!, and as part of Jack Ofield's prestigious showcase: The Short List. In 2008, Randall developed and produced On Your Feet, a children's television series now airing on Treehouse TV, and served as associate producer on Dare to Care, a documentary about North American educational philosophy, being distributed by the National Film Board. Randall is currently working on The Douglas Chronicles, a play about the life of James Douglas, the dramatic film fish in barrel, and completing A World Outside, a feature-length documentary about residential schools in Northern India.
